Hi,
I am Phil Sutton of Marine Services. As you have come this far
into the site now you are hopefully interested in our services
and may want to know what motivated me to set up this company.
The
son of a Navy navigator, I spent a large amount of my formative
years in, on and around everything from large Navel vessels to
fishing boats where I could often be found as a boy helping out
on local trips.On
leaving school I left the coast and joined the Fire Service serving
27 years at Luton and later in Bedford. The lure of the water
never left though and I was rarely without a boat in all that
time ranging from twin-engine cruisers to yachts and fast ribs.
I became a Fire Service rescue boat-handling instructor in 1994
also gaining my Yacht masters the same year. RYA advanced instructor
with commercial endorsement in 1998 and principal of the Brigade
RYA approved school one year later. |

I
also like to get my feet wet! One of a team of Fire Service advanced
water rescue instructors I can regularly be found teaching whilst
up to my neck in anything from white water to quicksand! In
2003 I was also lucky enough to lead a 2,849 nautical mile charity
round Britain challenge in a 5.6 meter RIB calling in at all the
extremities of our fabulous waters as we went. Please feel free
to view details at www.uk-challenge.co.uk During
my time in the service I have been involved in many rescues and,
unfortunately, far too many body recoveries. Safety on the water
is hugely important to me and always my number one priority. I
will never tire of the adrenaline rush that any form of boating
can bring but am only too aware of how quickly things can go wrong.
With
this in mind, Marine Services will always endeavour to get you
on the water in the safest and most painless way possible while
encouraging you so stay within the experience limits of both your
boat and crew. |
